Card in a Box ~ free box file from the Non-Crafty Crafter!

Don't you just love all the card in a box cards that are popping up all over the internet? I know I sure do! So when Narelle, the Non-Crafty Crafter, asked me to test cut a Design Space file she had created for the box, I jumped at the chance! I had originally cut the box in plain white paper {which is what I usually use for test cuts}, but the box was PERFECT! I was going to embellish it, and I'm sure I still will, but I had just finished piecing together these little birds from Treasure Box Designs and wanted to use them. So, I cut the box again using brown cardstock {again, it cut perfectly} and embossed it with the distressed stripes Cuttlebug folder. I was going for the look of a tree trunk.

Then I added the support piece. Easy Peasy with the "z fold" insert that I had seen on Deb Vader's blog. It's one piece that gives you all the different supports instead of 2 or 3 or 4 individual pieces. And, it lines up so neat and straight!

All I had to do was to I cut some branches from the Create A Critter cart and added those and my 3 little birdies! I haven't finished it because I'm not sure what sentiment I want to use: "A little birdie told me it's your birthday" or "Tweet, tweet, you're sweet" or maybe since I don't use Twitter, "This is how I tweet!".

Here is how the card looks closed. I positioned the little pink bird to be peaking over the top. I plan to use black cardstock to make a "hole" in the tree trunk and write the sentiment on it in white. And I can use my Explore to write and then cut the shape I choose for the hole! The rubber band will be taken off and I'll have some ribbon or twine or a belly band to hold the card flat for mailing.

Sounds like fun, right? Although I pin very little, I love to scroll through the pins of others and get ideas and inspiration. I think I actually squealed with delight when I saw this little bunny box that someone had pinned. Most of you know I love boxes and I recognized it as using Cricut cuts!

So off I went to Shantaie's Blog {inkingpink.com} and viewed her post about her project. I don't know how I missed it when she originally posted it because I've loved Shantaie's art since I first saw it when she was a member of the Cricut Circle Design Team.

I played around with the box image, which is from Paper Play and used the bunny ears from Paper Doll Dress Up. And here's my little bunny/box/doll!

Bunny Box from SVG Cuts

Isn't this the sweetest little bunny you've seen lately? All made from paper using the amazing cut file from SVG Cuts and my Cricut Explore! The file is so well designed and went together without a hitch. They even numbered the pieces for the  head and body so there was no confusion as to which order to glue them together. I did change the position of the feet from the original design but other than that, it's just like the one they show with their cut file. And, that doesn't always happen!

After I cut all the pieces, I embossed the head and body with my Cuttlebug and the flower embossing folder from the Once Upon a Princess set. The pink inner ears and foot "pads" were embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I added some Dimensional Magic by Mod Podge to the nose for a glossy look. The eyes are black brads like Mary used in the assembly video. However, I didn't want to jeopardize the integrity of the head, so I clipped the prongs off the brads and attached them with glue dots. And why is his head off, you might ask? Because this sweet little bunny is actually a box.

Filling it with chocolate candy only makes it sweeter!

Bunny Bag from SVG Cuts

This is a totally adorable little bunny treat bag that I made using my Explore and a FREE svg from SVG Cuts! Yes, the file is FREE! I decided to use a favorite floral pattern paper by DCWV since I've made so many white, pink and blue bunnies. I inked the edges with green ink and I love the way it turned out!

Here's a side view where you can see it will hold just the right amount of candy for an individual treat for the people in your class or office!

And here's another cute little paper piecing that was a free file of the day from Kadoodle Bug Designs!
I added the bow from a Cricut cart because she was just so cute I knew it was a girl!

Another Bunny Box created in Design Space!

Here's a cute little bunny treat box created in Design Space using a cube box from Artiste, a scallop tag, heart and circles from George and bunny ears from Paper Doll Dress Up. To create, cut and assemble the box. Fold the scallop tag on the score line and glue it to the front of the box. Add the inner ears, eyes and nose. Draw on a few whiskers and you're done!

Bunny Box

I am loving my Cricut Explore! I was able to easily cut these cut little bunnies from an svg file from Whimsiedoodles! I'll add some candies and decorate the table at Easter with them.

Even the back view is cute! Although, I might change the perfectly round circle to a "fluffy" shape or maybe even use a pom pom!
